USFS
Fire Shovel: #NSN 5120-00-965-0609- (NFES
0171)-heavy duty fire shovel forged from a single
piece of high-carbon steel. Blade measures 8 ¾” x 10
7/8”. Solid shank with forward turned steps for ease
of use, 53”Long American ash handle is driven into
socket and riveted. Fire Shovel comes with
protective sheathing on the blade. Compliance: USFS

USFS McLeod Tool:
#NSN 4210-00-203-3512-(NFES 0296)- combines a rake
for clearing surface debris and a hoe for digging
down to soil for constructing fire breaks. High
carbon steel blade is heat treated for wear
resistance and features a rust-resistant black
enamel coating. 51” Long American ash handle and
enhanced ferrule joint for strength and durability.
McLeod Tool comes with protective sheathing on the
blade. Hoe edge is 9 1/8” with six 3 ½” rake teeth
for long reach. Compliance: USDA FS 5100 353D
